The official language of Tunisia is Arabic, specifically Modern Standard Arabic for formal use. In everyday life, most Tunisians speak Tunisian Arabic, which includes influences from French, Italian, and Turkish. French is also widely spoken in business, education, and media. English is becoming more popular among younger generations. Some regions, especially in the south, also use Berber languages. Many Tunisians easily move between Arabic and French in daily life. The country’s language mix reflects its rich Mediterranean and North African heritage.
