How do you get to Cheaha State Park?

Cheaha State Park sits near Delta, Alabama, and is reachable by several scenic roads that cut through the Talladega National Forest. The most recommended route is the Talladega Scenic Drive on Alabama Highway 281, which is wide and easy to drive even with larger vehicles. If you’re coming from the west, an alternate but bumpier option winds through forest roads and isn’t ideal for RVs. Some people like the more adventurous route through Munford on Cheaha Road, but it’s uneven and sometimes muddy depending on weather. Regardless of the way you pick, make sure your GPS or map app is up-to-date, because some forest roads can be confusing. Coming from cities like Birmingham, Anniston, or Atlanta usually takes about one to two hours by car. Once you arrive, signs point you to the main park areas, overlooks, and visitor center.
