There’s no shortage of things to do at Cheaha State Park whether you’re into active adventures or laid-back nature time. You can hike trails ranging from short boardwalk paths to longer wilderness routes in the Cheaha Wilderness and part of the Pinhoti Trail system. The six-acre Cheaha Lake has a beach, swimming areas, fishing spots, and even hand-launched boating in the warmer months. Mountain bikers love the stacked loops and express trails, while rock climbers and rappellers work the Quartzite outcrops like Rock Gardens and Pulpit Rock. If you like treasure hunts, there are lots of geocaches hidden around the park that you can find with a GPS. When night falls, the low light pollution makes this a great place for stargazing with friends or family. Picnicking near overlooks and historic spots like Bald Rock are also popular ways to relax and enjoy the views.
