The most common way to get to Komodo Island is by flying into Labuan Bajo on the island of Flores, then taking a boat tour from there. Labuan Bajo is the main gateway town where most ferry and tour boats depart for Komodo National Park. Once you’re in Labuan Bajo, you’ll hop on a boat that takes you around the park to Komodo and other nearby islands. Some people also arrive by liveaboard cruises that let you explore for several days. It’s not possible to stay overnight on Komodo Island itself, so most visitors return to their boat or back to Labuan Bajo at night. Flights to Labuan Bajo are available from Bali, Jakarta, and other Indonesian cities, making it fairly easy to reach. Boat rides can take a couple of hours depending on weather and where you’re heading in the park.
