What is Komodo Island and why is it famous?

Komodo Island is a wild island in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, best known as the home of the giant Komodo dragons, the biggest lizards on Earth. It’s part of Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its rugged scenery and amazing wildlife. The island also draws people from all over the world for its rich marine life and awesome scuba diving spots. Besides dragons, you’ll find wild boar, deer, water buffalo, and tons of sea creatures in the surrounding waters. Many travelers pair a visit here with trips to Flores and other nearby islands. Every year thousands of people go on boat tours from Labuan Bajo to explore the park. It’s a bucket-list kind of destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
