Jalisco blends beach, city and countryside attractions that appeal to all kinds of travelers. Puerto Vallarta offers beaches, boat tours and a vibrant downtown along the ocean, perfect for beach lovers and nightlife. The state capital Guadalajara is full of plazas, museums, markets and historic buildings, and it’s the heart of mariachi and tequila culture. You can visit tequila distilleries just outside the city to learn how this famous spirit is made and even taste different types while soaking up local stories. Not far from the capital you’ll find places like Zapopan’s basilica and arts districts full of galleries. There are also scenic mountain towns, archaeological sites, waterfalls and “Pueblos Mágicos” full of local flavor. Many people enjoy combining beach time with cultural tours and food experiences in the cities.
