What is the seating capacity of the Alamodome?

The seating capacity of the Alamodome changes depending on the type of event being held. For football games the stadium can hold roughly 64,000 fans when the upper seating sections are open. Some large events can expand the seating to around 70,000 people using additional field seating areas. Basketball games are configured much smaller, usually starting around 20,000 seats. Baseball and other sports can have different capacities depending on how the field is arranged. This flexibility allows the stadium to host many types of sporting events and entertainment shows. The adjustable seating design is one reason the Alamodome has remained a popular venue for more than three decades.
