The Alamodome hosts a wide range of major sporting events and entertainment shows every year. One of the biggest annual events is the Alamo Bowl, a college football postseason game that has been played there since the stadium opened. The venue has also hosted NCAA Final Four basketball tournaments and international soccer matches. Large concerts featuring world-famous artists regularly fill the stadium with tens of thousands of fans. Wrestling events, boxing matches, and motorsports shows have also taken place inside the dome. Because the stadium is fully enclosed, it can host events year-round regardless of weather. Its ability to handle huge crowds makes it one of the top event venues in Texas.
