What is Faurot Field in Columbia, Missouri?

Faurot Field is the football stadium for the University of Missouri Tigers, located right on the university’s campus in Columbia, Missouri. The venue is officially called Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium, combining the stadium name with the name of the playing field. It has been the home of Missouri Tigers football since it first opened in 1926. The stadium was originally dedicated to honor university students and alumni who died in World War I. In 1972 the field itself was named after legendary Missouri coach Don Faurot. Over the decades it has become one of the most recognizable college football venues in the Midwest. Fans often refer to it by its nickname “The Zou,” reflecting the pride and energy of the Mizzou football community.
