Generally, Georgia is considered pretty safe for tourists and solo travelers, and violent crime against foreigners is uncommon in main cities and tourist spots. Like anywhere, you should watch petty theft in crowded places and use normal street-smarts at night. The main caveat is the occupied regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia — those areas have security risks, landmine hazards, and are not covered by normal consular help. Roads in rural or mountainous areas can be rough and driving styles are more… enthusiastic, so factor travel time and a cautious driver into plans. Locals are welcoming and hospitality culture means you’ll often feel comfortable quickly, but respect local customs and dress in churches. Health services are fine in Tbilisi and larger towns; carry travel insurance for remote excursions. Overall: exercise normal precautions, avoid disputed areas, and you’ll probably have a trouble-free trip.
