Unfortunately, yes. Dams being built upstream are changing the natural flow, which hurts fish populations and farmers downstream. Overfishing is also a big issue, and pollution is creeping in from growing cities. Climate change adds another layer of stress with rising sea levels in the delta. People are worried that without serious action, the river’s ecosystem could be in real trouble. It’s a hot topic in the region right now.
