What kind of animals live in the Mekong River?

The Mekong is home to an insane amount of wildlife. It has giant catfish that can weigh as much as a grizzly bear, along with freshwater stingrays, Irrawaddy dolphins, and tons of fish species. Scientists think there are over 1,000 different fish species in the river. It’s one of the most biodiverse rivers on the planet. Sadly, some of these animals are endangered because of overfishing and dam projects.
