What were Lyndon B. Johnson’s major achievements as president?

Johnson’s biggest achievements came from his Great Society programme, which aimed to reduce poverty and improve everyday life. He signed Medicare and Medicaid into law, giving health insurance to older and lower-income Americans. He also passed huge civil rights laws that banned racial discrimination and protected voting rights. LBJ pushed major education reforms, environmental protections, and anti-poverty efforts. Many of these programmes still exist today and shape modern America. Supporters say his domestic work changed the country more than almost any other president. Even critics admit he achieved a massive amount in a short time.
