Where did Lyndon B. Johnson study and how did it shape him?

Johnson studied at Southwest Texas State Teachers College, which today is called Texas State University. He didn’t come from privilege, so he worked his way through school and even spent time teaching poor Mexican-American students. That experience left a deep mark on him and helped him understand issues like inequality and education gaps. His college years also sparked his interest in public speaking and leadership. LBJ wasn’t the most traditional student, but he learned how to influence people early on. His time in school really shaped the social-policy side of his presidency. Many historians say those early experiences helped fuel his later reforms.
