Visitors to the Giza Plateau can view the Great Sphinx from the outside, but public access to the interior is not allowed. Archaeologists have documented small tunnels and chambers beneath and around the statue. These spaces were used in ancient times for various purposes and are restricted today. Limited access protects the fragile limestone from damage and erosion. The surrounding areas, including the Sphinx Temple and the Dream Stele, are open to tourists. Guided tours provide information about the Sphinx’s construction and underground features. Even without entering, the exterior view allows visitors to appreciate the scale and craftsmanship of the monument.
